Soccer Registration Overview

Soccer Registration Overview

Boys and Girls from ages 5 (or mature 4½ in some clubs) to age 18 are all invited to play in one of the clubs of Southwest Washington Youth Soccer Association.

All players have to register within a club for each season (Fall and Spring). Registrations are done online with some clubs also offering walk-in registration and / or mail in forms.

Teams are formed from open registrations (Recreational) or from try-outs (Advanced Competition).

Open registration is for players of all ages and abilities. There are two seasons for recreational soccer, Fall and Spring. Fall registration is typically in June/July and Spring registration is typically in January/February. Check with your local recreational club for exact dates. After that time, registrations are accepted only on a space available basis and may incur a late fee.

Requests to play on a specific team or with friends are accepted by most clubs during open registration period. Most clubs follow a strict policy of first come, first served on specific team requests. Although every effort is made to fill these special requests, it should be noted that all recreation teams are formed by the club registrar whose decision is final.

Advanced Competition teams are formed in May. See Advanced Competition for more information.
